A St. Cecilia Musician-in-Residence Concert
Allison Bent Angelo says:
This concert fulfills a desire to explore more cabaret music, create a theatrical recital, and something pure FUN for me (and hopefully the audience too). It also seemed like a concert that Peter Allen would be well-suited to.
I’ve known Peter since I worked for Barbara Butler more than a decade ago, and have had the privilege of working with him a number of times through St. Cecilia. His laid-back personality and amazing chops seemed a great fit for this type of concert, and we’ve had a great time putting it together.
Je te veux (trans: I want you) is an intimate evening of classical cabaret songs with singer Allison Angelo and pianist Peter Allen. The music is drawn from the inspiration of the French, German and American Cabarets of the turn of the century, where theatre and song were savoured in a restaurant/nightclub setting.
Love, laughter, passion, enticement, innuendo, betrayal, and jealousy are on the menu -- a fabulous way to pass an evening.
